25 Random Things About Me

I noticed a lot of people doing “25 random things” posts on Facebook, so I thought it would be fun to do one on here.  Share a little bit of my life with you that you probably didn’t know about.

In addition to being a no B.S. trainer and a blogger, I’m a pretty normal guy.

1. I can touch my nose with my tongue.

2. I love my 14 month old golden retriever Coda and spoil him rotten.

3. I’ve only recently come to the conclusion that life will never fit into my nice and neat fantasy world of black and white.

4. My office is always a mess.

5. My first job was as a grill cook at McDonald’s.

6. I was a lawyer for nearly 4 years.

7. I flunked the bar exam the first time I took it.

8. I learned how to use a firearm before I learned how to ride a bicycle.  Thanks Dad.

9.  I have enough typical Scorpio traits to convince me to have more than a passing belief in astrology.

10. I have 3 tattoos.  I’ll probably get more.

11.  My friends refuse to let me drive anywhere, because I drive too slow.

12.  I flunked my driver’s test the first time I took it.

13.  I always turn my cell phone off when I’m with someone.  I swing from mildly annoyed to completely offended when others don’t do the same.

14.  I do not fear public speaking, but a cocktail party full of strangers can send me into an anxiety attack.

15.  Both of my ears are pierced but I haven’t worn earrings since 1998.

16.  I still wear one of my dog tags even though I’ve been out of the Army since 2001.  I also wear one of my grandfather’s dog tags from the World War II era.

17.  I flunked the Army water survival test the first time I took it.

18.  I can play one little ditty on the harmonica well enough that most people are mildly impressed.

19.  At one time my hair was long enough that I wore a ponytail.

20.  I applied to be an Air Marshall after 9/11.  I didn’t receive a call back.

21. I’m desperately afraid of needles but force myself to donate blood because I am O negative.

22.  I didn’t drink alcohol until the end of my third year of college.

23.  I can juggle.

24.  My biggest regret is refusing to fully open myself to the love of a good woman when I had the chance.

25.  My favorite color is purple.
