Thanks Vic. This is real. Darn – I thought I was the only one who felt half-dead when I finished my workout. I say again – I do not feel alone. Go guys AND gals.
Nice videos, they definitely provide me more motivation to get my ass busting doing this challenge. I’ve been doing workouts similar to the ones you posted, but so far I’ve done pretty poorly following the diet (especially alcohol). These results and videos are motivating me to actually follow a cleaner diet so I can see results in not only my athletic health but also a reduction in my waistline and overall body fat %.
Totally agree with the burpees! Killer stuff. I about puked. Haven’t done stuff like that since college fball. All I can say Vic. It’s working! Keep up the workouts guys…we’re watching and living it with you. You are not alone my friends…you are not alone.
This is awesome. Wish I could do that with them. I am doing the advanced fat loss at home, for bad reasons I did not start on May 1st but May 7th.
Marching along too, replaced the handstand pushup by pull ups (that’s the only equipment I have at home).
Tomorrow is the push and burp, I think so far the hardest exercize in the list (maybe tied with the four Tabatas). I have done it twice before (after seeing Vic’s video a few weeks ago). Nearly killed me, but I know I can do it.
I don’t check my weight, I go with the way my pants fit – and my wife’s comments…
So far so good!!!
VIC..which program are they following… great videos.. i’m still trying to figure out the correct weight to use on my deadlifts. I was using the rack machine bar and placing 2- 10lb plates on each end.. and then next time i did with a 50-lb ez curl bar. Should i be lifting more?
thanks- Lisa
i’m no woosy girl..just so you know..
51 and kicking it hard… thats the way i like IT
Also, it’s tough for me to recommend a deadlift weight not having trained with you. I can tell you that Lyndsey used 85 lbs for the deadlift/burpee workout and I thought it was too light for her. But you can’t compare yourself to anyone else. The weight you use should be difficult to lift 10 times on your first set; ideally the weight should be heavy enough that on your later sets, you cannot do the 10 reps straight without taking a short break. Hope that helps!
(That’s actually really helpful for me, Vic, because I’m new to deadlifts and wasn’t sure where to start. I started with 45lb to make sure I had the form down, but it seems to be relatively easy for me.)
Glad to help. Deadlifts are typically used for strength training and done HEAVY. For the fat loss workouts, we are using relatively light weight, but you should still have to work. Crank that intensity!
You are on fire Vic!! Thanks once again for the info. I did’nt know about burpees and how effective they are. Appreciate the effort you are putting in, in making all these videos. Thanks again.
Thank you so much Vic. It’ nice to see other people go thru the same thing. I could not start may 1st so I just started on May 9th but I am sticking to it. I am switching between strength and advanced fat loss when I can’t make it to the gym. I hope it will work for me. I am not trying to lose weight, just reduce bofy fat and increase strength. (female, 135lbs, 5.6″) definitely don’t feel as bloated as I used to and it’s only been 4 days!!!! thank you soooo much!
18 Days to go!!!! Official weigh-in is tomorrow, but on my scale I’m down 10.2 lbs. (Goal is 24lbs.) Wish me luck! See you guys in the next video. (I’ll be the one passed out on the floor again after the burpees)
If high impact movements (jumping) are ok on your knees, then you can elevate the heart rate enough for fat loss. If you can’t bend deeply at the knees (squats) and jumping is out of the question, training at an intensity level that is effective for fat loss can be difficult.
Sure, these guys are eating all day long. But they eat in small quantities and they are being really smart about their food choices. I’ll give you a little sneak peak. . . everyone lost more weight in week 2!
Woah, very cool!
whats up Vic, that was freaking awesome!
got some good tips from that…

Was good to see this video and to see how everyone is progressing. I am right inline with Arvin as I lost around 4 pounds last week.
It also seems to be easier this week as far as recovery time goes now that my body is getting used to working out again.
Great job!
Great video!! Great to see I’m not the only one who finds the burpeesto be killers

comments from the wife are more satisfying than seeing the scale drop!

Lyndsey and John are on the Beginner’s Fat Loss Gym workout (you can find this in the 31 day challenge link at the top)
Arvin is on the advanced fat loss gym workout…

Hey everyone, John KILLED it in the gym today. I can’t wait to see you get revenge on Workout A on Monday!
I like the workout, but do you have a modified weightloss workout that’s easy on the knees? (old injuries)
Do they get any other food besides the snacks you show?
