Stay healthy, Tusc. Injuries can be annoying. You have to take care of your health before you can take care of your fitness.

I think you can see my coaching style is firm but encouraging. You have to get the client to execute at the best level that they can, and being a total dick will rarely produce the best level from a client. Having a little fun is great as long as the results keep coming!

thanks guys. I felt I was on the mend then met some friends to play rounders (dunno if you play that in US? It's like baseball but with a smaller bat and ball) in a field yesterday, ran off cold and felt like my tendon 'pinged' again! Arghhhh!

Will try all the calf massages over the next few days and also some Ibuleve gel to ease the swelling! It's so annoying when you pick up an injury eh?

thanks again and good luck with your workouts :)

Hey Vic,

Definitely helped as Karri mentioned - when doing DLs don't be a turtle! Anything that makes you laugh or smile when working out is a good thing!

Tuscanystone - You may want to check out a foam roller. I bought one at the start of the year for some IT band issues I was having and they work wonders. Work great for calves as well. Though a tennis ball would probably do the same thing, it'd just hurt a bit more. If you can take the pain, go for it.

Oh, he definitely did! As I did my deadlifts at the gym yesterday, I kept thinking, "no turtle back, no turtle back" over and over to keep my form in check. Your pain, my gain, I guess :)

Keep rocking this challenge, John. You're doing great!

Thanks Vic. Definitely helpful - they are a source of motivation - as I do get tired when doing the workouts and sometimes do not make all the reps - and seeing them have the same problem sometimes is reassuring - like them I am getting stronger.
