Joe Defranco, a hardcore trainer from New Jersey just had a documentary made about his gym and the training that goes on there. Joe trains some of the best athletes in the world, and regularly trains guys getting ready for the NFL.
If you watch Strong you will definitely be inspired! Yes, the training methods are intense and watching guys flip tires, push the prowler, and rattle the chains is sure to get anyone pumped to hit the gym. But it is the people that train with Joe, and how their lives are transformed outside of the gym as a result of the training, that are the true inspiration.
Whether it’s the white collar guy in his forties regaining his zest for life, the thirteen year old kid who refuses to quit despite a winless wrestling season, or the boundless energy and enthusiasm of the small college long-shot turned NFL starter, the people who train with Joe have stories that touch the heart and inspire action.
When you see what some of these guys go through just to train with Joe, you’ll understand the dedication it really takes to get in the best shape of your life. You’ll also begin to realize how training transfers over to other aspects of your life. Breaking PR’s in the gym that you once thought were impossible suddenly makes other “impossible” things in your life seem attainable.
I especially enjoyed how Strong gives us a glimpse into Joe’s family. With the solid example of discipline from his father (a great athlete himself) and the quiet strength of his mother, it is no wonder how Joe DeFranco developed the ability to transform lives. And the early footage of Joe as a teenager training with his father is classic!
If you’re a gym junkie and love hardcore training, or if your just a part time junkie looking for some inspiration, I highly recommend picking up Strong. Your training intensity just might go up a notch or two…

P.S. If you’re interested in this type of training, I highly recommend Zach Even Esh’s Underground Strength Ebook

Hi Vic, thanks for the info on the movie. Is there anyway I can rent this at a local video rental store? I can only imagine how inspiring it can be since I have experienced some of the stuff that you mentioned in your post in my own life. Thanks, again!
Hey Anna, I have no clue, but since it just came out about 3-4 weeks ago I highly doubt its available for rent yet.

Intense stuff. Good thing you are spreading the word about it.
The best part? It is real. No Hollywood here.

I’m interested enough, that I just may buy the DVD. Thanks for the info.
